Bringing the love of the lake into your home
FROM THE SHORES OF LAKE ONTARIO
Our Story
When the pandemic forced us all into a life of simplicity in the year 2020, our family retreated our cottage in Wilson, NY. As I reflect back on that summer I realize what value that time that had. My two sons and I spent the days on the beach, nature was our playground. With little worries about work and a busy schedule filled with sports practices and appointments, my creativity was free flowing. I began to make art from the things I could collect walking the beach each day.  Of course when life resumed back to the crazy work life and two busy boys this life of creativity slowly became less of a priority. As I pick up each piece of driftwood it tells a story. Each piece that is used in a product has been collected from the shores of Lake Ontario on Sunset Island. Being an island transporting the driftwood from the beach back to my shop in the village of Williamsville is not an easy task. One day I hope to have my own shop in the village of Wilson and a workshop on the island to do my work.
BEACH TOÂ HOME
The process of collecting and preparing the driftwood.
Our beach is an island where there are no vehicles permitted so getting the driftwood into the shop is no easy task. Below are some pictures that I have captured over the years of my family and this process.
